Lawrenceburg Resident Reports Assault With Tire Tool
A resident of Lawrenceburg was taken to Crockett Hospital Wednesday after being assaulted inside her home by a woman wielding a tire tool.
Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the victim’s home on Ada Avenue.
The resident, age 45, told officers that she had been inside her home when two women entered; one wielding the tire tool. She told officers the younger of the mother/daughter duo accused her of being a snitch, then began striking her on the back, neck, head, legs and arms. The victim sustained open wounds to both her legs and arms.
The victim’s daughter, who was home at the time of the assault, quickly grabbed two children present and took them outside the residence. Several others present then made attempts to intervene.
When one man attempted to use his cell phone to call for help, he told officers the mother took it away from him and began to strike him. Another man reported that when he attempted to intervene, the mother struck him, as well.
The younger woman, Jasmine Alese Jacobs, 21, surrendered herself to authorities shortly afterwards while officers were conducting a search of the area. They report that she offered repeated unsolicited confessions while she was being transported to the Lawrence County Jail. There she was booked on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated burglary.
The mother, Patrician Darlene Jacobs, 44, of 829 North Mahr Avenue, was later arrested at her home. She was booked on three counts of assault and one count of aggravated burglary.
Both Jacobs are scheduled for an initial appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on September 2, 2010.
